Lyrics:

By this time tomorrow,
I won’t love you like today.
By this time tomorrow,
I’ll fear the break of day.

By this time tomorrow,
I’ll have pissed away my pay.
By this time tomorrow,
I’ll be lonely yet again.

Don’t you leave me,
like you did before.
I know I hurt you,
when I said I needed more.

By this time tomorrow,
you’ll aim to miss your foot.
By this time tomorrow,
I’ll barely even look.

By this time tomorrow,
you’ll do what you been told.
By this time tomorrow,
you’ll get back to the cold.

I’m gonna leave you,
like I did before.
You know you hurt me,
when you said you needed more.

By this time tomorrow,
I’ll add wrinkles to my face.
By this time tomorrow,
I’ll only have a taste.

By this time tomorrow,
I’ll be nearly falling down.
By this time tomorrow,
you’ll be trying to dodge the ground.

Don’t you leave me,
like you did before.
I know I hurt you,
when I said I needed more.

Chorus

By this time tomorrow,
you’ll bend me ’till I fold.
By this time tomorrow,
I’ll say goodbye cruel world.

Chorus

Head of the Herd “By This Time Tomorrow” Press Release

HEAD OF THE HERD RELEASE SOPHOMORE ALBUM ‘BY THIS TIME TOMORROW’ ON JUNE 4th

Album Named After First Single – A Duet With Jasmin Parkin From Mother Mother

European Independent Film Festival In Paris Features Album Track ‘You Come, You Go’ In 2013 Reel

Toronto, ON (March 26, 2013) – Chances are you’ve already heard rumblings about Vancouver’s Head of the Herd – a modern blues rock band that boast a hell of an edge.  Winners of the CFOX Seeds competition, a radio contest known for advancing the careers of artists such as; Nickelback, Matthew Good Band, and more, Head of the Herd (Neu Mannas and Clay Frank), follow in the tradition of their bluesy forefathers with whiskey infused vocals, a southern edge, great stories and a touch of slide guitar.

The first single and title track, ‘By This Time Tomorrow’ features the momentous vocals of Mother Mother vocalist/keyboard player Jasmin Parkin, and is a down the bottle response to a relationship intoxicated by bad decisions.  The song is available at iTunes nowhttp://tinyurl.com/cnwau84

As impassioned on stage as they are on the record, Head of the Herd have spent much of their musical lifetime on the road.  In addition to innumerable headline performances and appearances, the band has shared stages with The Sheepdogs, The Trews and many other like-minded acts.  Neu and Clay formed the band on the road over a 24 hour drive, and some boot mickeys at a college football game in Boise, Idaho.

‘By This Time Tomorrow’ is nineteen months in the making due in part to a huge opportunity to work with one of Rock music’s most sought after producers – Gggarth Richardson, the man behind Rage Against The Machine’s chart topping debut.  Gggarth was working on Biffy Clyro’s album (#1 in the UK), when he met Head of the Herd and promised the band they’d, “get to the studio and make some music,” as soon as he finished with Clyro.  During the wait for Gggarth, Neu and Clay took advantage of every opportunity to focus on well-crafted songs that would lend themselves to their impassioned performances on stage.

“For the album, we took those emotional, personal songs, and injected the wild vigour that our live show is renowned for.  It’s that feeling that we brought into the studio for this record, and put into everything from the kick drum to the written words,” says Neu Mannas (lead vocals/guitar).

The band constructed and recorded the album in two sessions.  One at “The Farm” with famed producer Gggarth Richardson and the other in Toronto with Rick Jackett and James Black from multi-platinum Rock band, Finger Eleven.  The result is a nine track album that pairs two furiously creative minds with the convention of bluesy rock traditions, and blends it with the palpable energy of Rock n’ Roll.

Most recently the European Independent Film Festival in Paris chose the lead album track ‘You Come, You Go’ as the feature song for this year’s festival reel, showcasing the band on an international level.  Watch it here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuQwauTbGto

Album Titled “By This Time Tomorrow”

Been a year in the making and we’re proud to announce the title of our second LP.  With songs produced by Gggarth Richardson, Rick Jackett & James Black, our sophomore record will be titled “By This Time Tomorrow

Studio Highlights

We’ve wrapped up recording our next album, and it was one helluva good time.  We’re having a listening party with some radio friends tonight to showcase the songs we recorded in Toronto with Rick Jackett & James Black, as well as the batch we recorded at the Farm in Vancouver with Gggarth Richardson.

We were talking and had some highlights from each that we wanted to share.

Rick Jackett & James Black @ Coalition Entertainment – Toronto:

We met up with Rick and James on the first night.  4 hours and about 4,000 beers later, we had picked the songs we were going to record during out 3 weeks in town.  James brought us into his studio for the pre-production and once we had solid arrangements, we headed to Coalition Entertainment to get down to business.

A steady diet of shwarma and alcohol fueled these sessions with maximum efficiency.  Dave (@thegener8tor) flew out from Vancouver and recorded his drum parts in an old chapel.  Massive sound, great place to do it. We also got a group of students from the ‘Artist Entrepreneur’ program at Coalition to sing the hook of the opening track with us.

Rick (@rickjackett) & James (@yojimbo_black) really proved they’d earned their reputation in the business.  A great sense of what a song needs, when it needs it, and how to achieve that sound.

Our theme song throughout the process was “I Gotsta Get Paid” by ZZ Top.  An old hip hop song they covered, and I must say, murdered appropriately.  We wrapped a few days early so that meant celebrating and catching Jays games.  Great people, even better music.

Gggarth Richardson @ the Farm – Vancouver, BC

When you walk in the building there’s a dazzling amount of platinum on the walls including one of our favorite records, the debut by Rage Against the Machine.  When you’ve got the producer of that on your side (@gggarthfader), you know things are going to get big fast.

There’s also miles and miles of history in the studio we were in.  The Farm studios used to be Little Mountain sound.  You’d overhear the odd offhand comment like “that’s where Tommy Lee recorded the drums for Dr. Feelgood” and murmurings about Metallica’s “Black Album.”  Four walls we were happy to live between for the month of October.

We juggled song selections during the first few days of pre-production, but when we made the final picks, we knew this album was gonna be a ripper.  A balance of the story telling we’re known for, with the intensity of our live show.

Garth and engineer Ben Kaplan proved over and over why they’ve been so successful together.  We’re thrilled to have worked with both of them.

We brought in friend, and Mother Mother keys/vocalist, Jasmin Parkin to sing a duet with us.  She NAILED it. It worked out so well we’re naming the album after that song.

We’ve got behind the scenes footage, and a record we’re extremely proud of….all will be released in good time.  You can check out photos here for now.

Got to give a massive thanks to the Staffs at both Studios.  Made for an amazingly creative exciting time for the Head of the Herd.  This is on another level.

-Neu & Clay

Recording with Gggarth Richardson

We could not be more excited to finally let you know what’s been in the works for over a year. After recording 3 songs produced by Rick and James from Finger 11, we’re now in the studio with famed producer Garth Richardson. This man’s got a track record a mile long. Producer / Engineered for Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mötley Crüe, Biffy Clyro, and loads more. We couldn’t be more excited to record the next batch of songs with this guy.
